Mobile Technology continues to advance. We can now connect our guitars to our mobile devices and use those smartphones, phablets and tablets to record and share videos. The ability to download “Apps” provides access to an array of learning tools. I addition to audio and video recording apps, there are a variety of Chord, Scale, Metronome, Song Tab, Backing Track, and video lesson apps available.
Mobile Interface
Here are two examples of mobile device interfaces for your guitar. Having a way to connect your guitar to your mobile will help you to produce good audio recordings. You can use the tracks that you record, to practice with or for building songs. Review these videos and then do some research to find an interface that is compatible with you device and your guitar.

These “Mobile Interface” videos give you an idea of how mobile devices and interfaces can be used to record and for live performance.
Apps
Some interfaces come with their own Apps. Your devices App/Play Store provides a selection of “Guitar” apps. You need to download a tuner, a metronome and a recording app. Visit your device’s app store and choose at least a tuner and a metronome app.
I recommend the StringMaster App. StringMaster contains lots of features and is an excellent multipurpose guitar learning tool with lots of features and can be used to assist your practicing.
GarageBand is my mobile app choice for recording audio, creating a backing track for practicing, and creating audio notes.
